2022: A note of gratitude and year in review.
I’m so incredibly grateful for all the souls I get to connect with through my studio. 2022 was a special year on my Portrait journey; my heart is full and I’m excited about what is to come.
And the greatest honor was having the privilege of photographing you and all your extraordinary beauty, power, and awesomeness.
This time of year is so reflective as we look at entering a new year. I know life will have its ups and downs, but it is through the challenges that we grow and move forward to meet something better in alignment with what we want. We all contain resilience that shines through every challenge. So, if you’re experiencing an obstacle or several, look within, question it and dig deep. You can shift it. Remember how truly resilient and special you are. And most importantly, remember that you matter. Every ounce you give to the world makes it lighter, brighter, and happier... simply because you exist.
In fact, photographing and witnessing your unique gifts and perseverance provided me with a few lessons I’m taking into 2023.
Practice self-acceptance and self-forgiveness. If you are seeing it, you’re being it. That self-awareness can bring radical self-acceptance, forgiveness, and shifts. Pay attention to the state in which you dwell and how you feel about it because everything you experience you pushed out. So, it’s important to heal old wounds. You are not here to find yourself. You are here to create yourself.
Flow with gratitude. Not only do we need to practice gratitude, but we also need to feel gratitude. Gratitude is a state of mind. It’s a bias. I’m the queen of a silver lining. I believe there are blessings and lessons in all circumstances and there’s almost always something to be grateful for. When you can stay in that energy, you are in the flow and that’s how I want to live my life.
Lean into self-love. Self-love is self-acceptance. The world is reflecting back to you your emotions. It’s amazing what will show up when you start loving yourself more and judging yourself less. So let’s give ourselves a little more compassion. Things can be complex and everyone is really doing the best they can. I, personally, plan on filling up with self-love, self-acceptance, and self-care.
I can see that these 3 practices build the type of confidence that is ingrained and makes you radiate. In 2023, I’m on a mission to spread confidence through the Power Portrait Collection.
My belief is this, if I hold you as you are, you stay as you are. If I hold you as to what you can become you become that. I’m out to create the visual that shows you through a Power Portrait.
I’ve had the privilege of photographing women for over a decade, and the truth always remains. When a woman steps onto my set, she comes alive. I guide her in a way that reflects back to her, her own power and grace. By having a day dedicated to yourself, you can also release what’s no longer serving you and unleash the beautiful, powerful, and captivating woman within.
This is my jam, y’all. I LOVE it.
2022 showed me some big universal truths, so to 2023, I say - LET’S ELEVATE.
Until we speak again, may you be filled with joy, love, and acceptance.
